unlike the 328i, the 228i has been decontented as hell. Look at the difference between the premium pack on the 3 vs 2. I didn't spring for ZPP on the 3, because i don't care about their crappy leather, nor comfort access, nor lumbar support. in the 2, its absolutely necessary.

Heres what you do, put your cash in the bank...move on with your life for 3 years and then buy a used M235 for the same price, because lets face it...you know that's the one you want. Don't lie to yourself about better "balance" from less weight over the wheels. The M steering wheel is worth it alone

the 228 is really not that far off in terms of dimensions, from the 328i. Nor is it that significantly lighter. I really don't understand why the 2 series is getting the press it is. Maybe its because the 2 series is more like the E46 3 coupe instead of the luxurious E90 3 coupe. The F32 4 Coupe has taken on the CLK like (personal luxury coupe) sort of role.

I just don't understand why it's so goddamn heavy! There's no reason an M235i should weigh MORE than the V8 M3. That's just unacceptable. If more people knew that, they'd buy a used E90 from Carmax and get a MUCH better car.

Ive driven it too, and still prefer my car. I don't care for all the M Badging on the 235. Nor do i care for the Audi S-Line chrome mirrors. Ultimately, they are the BMW equivalent of the Cadillac ELR. Were they 5k cheaper, they'd be a more reasonable proposition. For my money, I don't think id have ordered my car any differently. The 2.0T is simply a gem of an engine, and for 95% of my day to day driving, is significant overkill. The N54 3.0T I6 is just that much more engine, in need of a real use.

I only got to take one out for a few minutes at the dealer and since it was already claimed I never got to really put it through its paces. With that said I got the urge to push the dealer out of the car and just take it, willing to accept the charges in order to flog it just once. 50k for one is silly, but when the lady that got that one moves on to a Macan, or a Range Rover or something in a few years....That thing is MINE.

228 is a fine car, but I personally would not be able to be happy with it knowing there is a better version of the car available. I have a E90 330 right now and every day I wish I got a 335 so I could tune that summa-bitch, I won't compromise on my next car.
